We started nine years ago with a handful of hobbyists in Verrado located in the city of Buckeye, Arizona. We now have 400 members and subscribers sharing a common interest in the field of astronomy.
When we first got together we thought that this might be a forum for serious science-minded individuals. Like most astronomy clubs, we shared interest in improving our hobby, and learning more about the latest technology.
Now that we've grown we've found that our interest extends beyond the hobby.
OUR MISSION is to engage those of all interest levels and to provide the highest quality of astronomical science to everyone and anyone in our community and beyond.
We also looked at our long term vision and felt that we want to create an organization that will provide a resource where anyone can succeed in meeting their personal astronomical education goals through state-of-the-art learning activities and unsurpassed membership benefits.
We hope you share the same vision and mission and will join us to learn more about the science of astronomy or improve the skills you already have as a hobbyist, educator or serious scientist.
Anyone can join by contacting Doug Walker, President at aaazboard@outlook.com
for additional information.
Your information will never be shared with anyone unless you provide us with authorization to do so. The Association is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit corporation supported by members, donors, sponsors and the Verrado Assembly. We are operated by volunteers and we are open to anyone that shares an interest in the science.
